Located just a few miles east of Ellsworth, the Schoodic Area Chamber of Commerce is made up of businesses in Sullivan, Sorrento, Franklin, Gouldsboro and Winter Harbor. Come and enjoy antiques, specialty shops, galleries, luxurious inns and highly acclaimed restaurants. We are still one of the best-kept secrets in Maine! Whatever your pleasure, in our corner of Downeast Maine you can enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, golf, sailing, bird watching and cross country skiing. If you prefer to relax, pack a picnic and travel to one of our many lakes, ponds or public beaches by the sea. Beginning in Winter Harbor, a free bus shuttle will provide you a tour of the Schoodic Section of Acadia National Park; the tour includes Gouldsboro's villages of Bunkers Harbor and Prospect Harbor before returning. Once you have filled your days on our peninsula, a ferry is available to take you to and from busy Bar Harbor, across Frenchman's Bay. Day trips from our area include Campobello, North or Camden, West. In the evening, when you return to your Bed and Breakfast, cabin, or campground you can enjoy fresh lobster from one of our many local fishing harbors. |
