Accessibility

The Schoodic Area is located in Downeast Maine.  Traveling north, you have two options:  take I-95 (Maine Turnpike) to Bangor, ME and take Rt. 1A to Ellsworth, ME;  or take the Rt. 3 exit in Augusta to Belfast, then north on Rt. 1 all the way along the coast into Ellsworth.  Follow Rt. 1 North for approximately 18 miles, turning right onto Rt. 186, a loop-road that will take you around the entire Peninsula and back to Rt. 1.

Traveling south from the Canadian border, take Rt. 1 Soon after entering Hancock County, turn left onto Rt. 186.

The area is serviced by two airports:  Bangor International Airport and Bar Harbor Airport.

The money earned by the Chamber at its special activities provides college scholarships for area students and promotes some of the most beautiful coastline the state has to offer.  We hope you will come and join us this year.  For dates and further information, call 1-207-963-7658
