Dr. Brian Olsen of the Climate Change Institute of the University of Maine will present a lecture on bird migration in the Gulf of Maine. His current research is investigating what areas and habitats are important for migratory birds, how climate change might affect patterns of migration, and how to ensure migration continues despite change.Dr. Olsen received his Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from Virginia Tech in 2007 and currently is an assistant professor at the University of Maine, as well a researcher for the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute and Maine’s Biodiversity Research Institute.At Moore Auditorium on the SERC campus in Winter Harbor. The programs are open to the public and free of charge. Donations welcome. |
