Nationally acclaimed artists Nina Weiss will offer a one day workshop: Pastel Technique and the Maine Landscape. Students will focus on techniques pioneered by Degas, Chardin and Cassat. Using chalk pastels, they will learn how colors are layered to create optical mixtures, achieve depth and realize brilliant colors. Special emphasis will be on re-creating colors found in the natural landscapes surrounding our beautiful location in Corea, Maine. A review of color theory will be included, as well as black and white and color exercises, demonstration, and
examples. Workshop is $80 and limited to 12 people.
