“Seabird Sue” Schubel knows seabird islands. Her acquaintance with Project Puffin began in high school, when she saw Marlin Perkins rowing ashore with Steve Kress on Mutual of Omaha’s “Wild Kingdom”. She first volunteered as a research assistant on Maine’s Matinicus Rock in 1984, and since then has spent many summers on Maine seabird islands as well as seabird stints in California and Galapagos. She loves to engage audiences in exciting learning activities and share real data from the seabird islands with them. Sue keeps her hand in the seabird restoration research by supplying sound attraction equipment to projects from Bermuda to Hawaii, and Quebec to Baja. Sue loves islands and seabirds and will bring a dynamic presentation to SERC.
